Life-saving skills. Confident care. Safe environments.
The Paediatric First Aid qualification is an Ofsted-approved course for adults responsible for the care of children aged 0–18. It equips participants with the knowledge and practical skills needed to respond effectively to a wide range of emergency situations. Candidates will gain a recognised Paediatric First Aid qualification, enabling them to act confidently in supporting children’s health and safety.
Participants will explore:
- the roles and responsibilities of a paediatric first aider
- how to assess and respond to emergency situations
- managing an unresponsive infant or child, including CPR and the use of an AED
- recovery position and choking response
- recognising and responding to medical conditions such as asthma, anaphylaxis, meningitis, seizures and diabetic emergencies
- treating injuries including head and spinal injuries, fractures, burns and scalds, bleeding and shock
- managing minor injuries, bites and stings, and temperature-related conditions
Through hands-on practice and scenario-based learning, participants will develop the confidence to respond quickly and effectively to incidents involving infants and children.
