Camden KS5 Physics Network

Description

In the third of three sessions aimed at teachers of A-Level Physics during the 2024/25 academic year, Henry Hammond (Alexandra Park School) will look at conservation laws, and their problem-solving powers for physics exam question, as well as current opportunities for schools and teachers of physics.

The second part of the session will allow participants to have a guided tour of the  Flow Cytometry or NMR facilities.

(Please note very high magnetic fields are present in the NMR laboratory which can destroy magnetic devices, attract metal objects in an uncontrolled manner and also affect medical implants.  Visitors will be asked to remain within the demarcated areas where magnetic fields are safe for most devices and objects.  However, pacemakers may still be adversely affected and are not permitted anywhere in the NMR lab, so unfortunately anyone fitted with a pacemaker cannot attend the tour.  Other hazards within the room will be explained upon entry to the lab.)
