Enhanced Provision

Description

Enhanced Provision 1 - Leadership Strategy

Curriculum, Pedagogy and Inclusive Practice
This training series is designed to support schools developing enhanced provision and inclusive practice within mainstream settings for pupils with complex and high levels of need.
Through a combination of strategic discussion, practical classroom approaches and collaborative reflection, participants will explore how curriculum, pedagogy and provision can be adapted to strengthen participation, regulation, communication and learning whilst maintaining ambition and belonging within the wider school community.
The programme will explore:
• designing responsive and flexible curriculum pathways
• adaptive teaching approaches for complex learners
• communication, engagement and regulation strategies
• the role of environment and provision design
• balancing targeted support with meaningful inclusion in mainstream school life
• assessment approaches for pupils working outside age-related expectations
• deployment of staff and effective multi-disciplinary working
• evaluating impact and strengthening consistency across provision
The series is designed to support both strategic leadership and day-to-day classroom practice. While not all staff are expected to attend every session, schools are expected to ensure attendance is carefully matched to role and responsibility. Some sessions will focus on strategic leadership, provision design and operational planning, while others will target classroom practitioners and support staff implementing approaches in practice.
To ensure strong whole-school alignment and leadership commitment, senior leaders are expected to attend both the opening and final sessions within the programme.
