The Early Years Writing Curriculum: Effective practice and provision

These sessions are designed to strengthen practitioners’ understanding of high-quality writing practice and provision in the Early Years.

Participants will reflect on how Stronger Foundations and The Writing Framework inform effective practice, alongside exploring how to promote purposeful independent writing within continuous provision.

Through practical examples and professional dialogue, practitioners will:

• Develop a clear understanding of effective early writing pedagogy

• Explore how to create environments that support purposeful writing

• Reflect on current provision and identify opportunities for improvement

• Strengthen approaches to supporting children’s early writing development

The sessions focus on building strong foundations for writing through meaningful, well-planned opportunities that support children to become confident, independent writers.
