Inclusive Pedagogy CPD

Description

The sessions will look at ways to create a positive and supportive environment for all pupils.

The series of three sessions will explore research-informed practice around inclusive pedagogy, specifically adaptive teaching. Sessions will be run by Lead Practitioners who will show you how to put research into practice through a range of practical strategies to use in your classroom.

The sessions will look at how to use the ‘5-a-day’ EEF model as an exemplification of good practice and will include:

  • The use of explicit instruction to support students with SEND/disadvantage
  • Scaffolding
  • Metacognitive strategies
  • Ideas and models for moving colleagues from a deficit discourse around students with SEND to an adaptive strength-based approach.

The programme will have a strong focus on professional development and practice, including how the principles of explicit instruction, scaffolding and metacognition can support effective dissemination and PD.

The programme will take place over three afternoons. Participants will be expected to attend all three sessions, engage with tasks in between sessions and disseminate learning in their own setting. This program is suitable for current or aspiring leaders of practice as well as classroom teachers looking to develop their understanding of inclusive pedagogy.
