Foundations of Inclusive Digital Pedagogy

This CPD session introduces digital pedagogy with a clear focus on high-quality teaching principles before the use of technology. It supports teachers to make informed decisions about when and how digital tools can enhance learning, rather than drive it. Grounded in the principles of Universal Design for Learning (UDL), the session explores how technology can be used to remove barriers for pupils with SEND while improving access, engagement and outcomes for all learners. Participants will consider how small, purposeful adjustments to teaching can create more inclusive classroom environments.

Participants will explore how to:

• Apply strong pedagogical principles to the use of technology.

• Use digital tools to increase access, participation and independence.

• Reduce barriers through Universal Design for Learning.

• Design inclusive learning experiences that benefit all pupils 

Through practical examples and classroom-focused strategies, teachers will develop confidence in using technology in ways that are thoughtful, inclusive and aligned to effective teaching practice.
