KS5 Physics Network

Description

In the second of three sessions over the course of the 2024/25 academic year aimed at teachers of A-Level Physics, staff from the Francis Crick Institute, NMR team will be presenting to teachers and helping to enrich their teaching with up-to-date and relevant science. Henry Hammond (Alexandra Park School) will then lead the second part of the session, linking to key aspects of the A-Level curriculum and leaving participants with practical strategies and suggestions to take away and use in the classroom.

Core aim of the network. Provide ideas, stimulation and challenge to increase attainment in KS5 Physics. Focus on lower attainers and ensuring all can access up to C grade.

Core physics T&L in this session. Fields, making them more real to learners. Underpinning physics principle of ‘seeing the unseen’. A look at pressure & temperature and using ratios. Kit to give out – DataHive Charge sensors. Jolly bulbs. 2 of each per school.
